For our fall musical of 2019 we preformed Into the Woods! I was cast as the wolf that gets to eat both Granny and Red Riding Hood. I got my own solo song called “hello little girl” Another new experience was I got murdered in a musical for the first time, after being murdered as the Wolf I joined the ensemble for the big dance numbers. I’ll have to say this one I’m very proud of because I was able to grow as a singer with the new choir director Mr. Howe.
The Thespian Convention
This is actually the second time I’ve attended the Thespian convention. The first time was very fun but I’ve felt I didn’t take classes that benefited me as much as this second trip. For this time I planned my classes before hand and I choose all dance classes as I haven’t had much exposure to live dance for the theatre. I took three workshops on swing dance, Latin dancing, and salsa. Those were some of the best classes I’ve ever taken and while I’m bummed I don’t get to go a third time this second convention was everything, especially getting to see Fredrick high schools production of Newsies.
The somewhat True Tales of Robinhood
The Somewhat True Tales of Robinhood was the show that never got to be. It was the spring play for the year of 2020. I was cast as prince John, the shows main Villain. We had a blast memorizing and blocking the play as it was a group I’ve had not much experience working with, a cast of a lot of new faces that I greatly appreciated. Unfortunately fate had other plans and by the time we got to blocking act two quarantine went into effect. Though we only got to work half of it in detail I greatly appreciated the character work I was able to get with prince John. And my favorite side kick Jonathan Paul.
